This course from National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) guides you from writing your very first Chinese sentence all the way to composing a complete essay. Step by step, you will build the grammar patterns, vocabulary, and sentence structures you need to express yourself clearly in written Mandarin.

This course is organised into 4 weekly modules, guiding you from a single sentence to a complete essay:

Week 1
Write Your First Chinese Sentence
Basic sentence patterns, word order, and writing a self-introduction.
Week 2
Write Your Second Chinese Sentence
Coordinating conjunctions and everyday messaging skills.
Week 3
Write Your First Chinese Essay
Describing people, places, and things with modifiers, and writing a narrative essay.
Week 4
Write Your Second Chinese Essay
Expressing tenses (present, past, future) and writing a longer essay — "An Unforgettable Day".

รูปแบบการเรียนการสอน

This is a fully online course that you can study at your own pace.

Over 4 weeks (about 2 hours per week), each unit combines short video lessons with guided writing activities and quizzes.

เกณฑ์การให้คะแนน

Learners are assessed through the quizzes and activities in each unit. To complete the course, please finish all course units and quizzes.

A final score of 60 or above is required to be eligible for a Certificate of Completion.
