在說明日本的文化特徵時，日本人的宗教觀常是重點。這種宗教觀是以在日本社會誕生的神與經由印度、傳入中國、朝鮮半島而來的佛兩種信仰為軸。因此，本課程將以神與佛的關係為主軸，概觀日本特有文化的形成過程。
When describing the characteristics of Japanese culture, the religious worldview of the Japanese is often emphasized. This worldview centers on two belief systems: the native Shinto deities (kami) that originated in Japanese society, and Buddhism, which was transmitted from India via China and the Korean Peninsula. Accordingly, this course takes the relationship between Shinto and Buddhism as its central theme to explore the formation of Japan's unique cultural identity.
