This course will bring students closer to the most relevant notions and topics related to the development of the Asia-Pacific region. Many concepts from International Relations and geopolitics will be reviewed, together with historical events that might contribute to the better appreciation and understanding of those hot topics. Being a course that uses English as a means of instruction (EMI), it also will also allow students to become familiar with those issues, but in an English language environment. As a result, students will also be able to easily access international media and scholarly materials, gaining a deeper insight into the different relevant themes in the development of the Asia-Pacific region.

Assistant Professor in the Diplomacy Department at National Chengchi University (full-time), and in the Graduate Institute of Latin American Studies at Tamkang University (part-time). Ph.D. in Asia-Pacific Studies by NCCU. His research interests include International Political Economy, International Relations, and the Comparative Development and Relations between East Asia and Latin America.

This course consists in eight different units. Each unit is designed to be completed within one week, containing five short videos (10-12 minutes length), with an average of one hour per week. After watching the videos for each unit, the student will be asked to respond a short quiz with multiple-choice questions on the content of the videos, before proceeding to the following unit. After completing the eight units, the student will have to answer a final test, with questions summarizing the content of all the course.

期末考Final Exam:20 %
This course was designed for students at the graduate school (master) level; however, it is also recommended for junior and senior students at the university level. The content of this course is suitable for students in the field of social sciences and humanities, particularly those interested in knowing more about international affairs.
