摘要

此課程從基督教的角度去檢視工程 - 利用聖經的眼鏡看世界。 透過現實生活的影片及插圖,所有工程類型的學生將思考到每位工程師都需回答的問題。從原因、邏輯、道德、科學、歷史及人類經驗的證據,將可指導我們自己的道路。這門課室是思考基督教觀點所可造成的差異的邀請函。

This course examines engineering from a Christian perspective – seeing the world through Biblical glasses With the help of video clips and illustrations of real life, students of all engineering disciplines will think through the most important questions every engineer must answer. Evidence from reason, logic, morality, science, history, and human experience will guide our way. This course is an invitation to consider the difference a Christian perspective can make.

#英語授課(EMI,English as a Medium Instruction)

課程目標

此課程的主要目標是讓學生了解基督教觀點,這在學生思考及考慮所提供材料是非常重要的。學生只需了解資訊,個人信仰並不是這堂課的主題。同時,這堂課也不是為了比較不同的宗教,此重點是基督教精神。

學生每兩週需完成撰寫對於該兩週教學內容的心得。授課教師將在該心得裡提供回饋及解說學生的疑問。

The primary goal of the course is to give students an understanding of the Christian perspective. It is very important that each student think about and consider the material presented. Students are asked only to understand the information. Their personal beliefs are not the subject of the course. The course also is not intended to be a comparative religions class. The course focus is Christianity.

Each student will complete a bi-weekly reflection essay where the student will write their thought about the material covered in the class that week. The instructor will provide feedback on the essays and address any questions that the students may have.

平時測驗:佔總成績40%

每周10題隨堂選擇測驗,每周針對課程主題進行隨堂測驗。

Multiple-choice questions (10 questions per week)

平時作業:佔總成績60%

每兩周1份主題式英語寫作,寫作內容務必自行撰打,字數至少300字,若有引用他處資源請標註資料來源。
Essay writing (once every other week; minimum words is 300, using English).
In writing essays, please follow the rules: try to write using your “own” words as much as possible and provide the source of information if you use the words other than your own.

平時加分:佔總成績至多20%

與教師進行課堂提問討論互動之加分項
Bonus points (up to 20 points) for those who ask the questions (two-way communication between the students and the instructor).
